Job Duties

  • Greeting and assisting customers actively at the checkout lane
  • processing customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
  • handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • adhering to company guidelines regarding cash shortages and restricted sales items
  • reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • following established policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • staying current with promotional ads and sales
  • adhering to all food safety regulations and store safety protocols
  • identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents to management
  • inspecting equipment for maintenance needs and reporting issues
  • creating a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
  • following all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • working cooperatively in fast-paced and sometimes stressful environments
  • managing conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • acting with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
  • providing support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
