Job Qualifications

- Ability to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems

- Experience assisting diverse populations including minors and individuals with special needs
- Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system including handling cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT and other tenders
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Comply with company policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special advertisements
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance needs
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
- Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
