Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
  • perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items
  • ensure proper use of product identification and PLU codes, report pricing or signage errors
  • maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
  • maintain a clean and well-stocked department
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
  • follow guest experience guidelines
  • perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
  • perform additional responsibilities as assigned
