Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Willingness to follow PPE, safety, food safety and cleaning guidelines
- Ability to work in varied temperatures and retail environment conditions
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- Understand use of check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, belts and operate efficiently
- Responsible for front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLU's and report errors in pricing or signage
- Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers
- Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of regulated products
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked department ensuring safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with stocking items as needed
- Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
- Follow guest experience guidelines
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
