Job Duties

  • greet and engage customers actively
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policies
  • adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss honestly
  • follow guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • comply with policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay updated on current and seasonal advertisements
  • adhere to all food safety regulations
  • follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
  • create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful setting
  • manage conflicts in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
  • act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
