Job Duties
- greet and engage customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policies
- adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss honestly
- follow guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- comply with policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated on current and seasonal advertisements
- adhere to all food safety regulations
- follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful setting
- manage conflicts in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
