Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper use of product identification and PLU codes
  • report errors in pricing or signage
  • maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted items
  • maintain a clean and well-stocked department
  • assist with stocking items when needed
  • follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines
  • follow guest experience guidelines
  • perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
  • undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
