Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Handle various payment types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
- Control loss by adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages
- Enforce company guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present and upcoming promotions and ads
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company policies
- Work cooperatively and manage conflict in a reasonable manner
- Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
