Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers
- adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and loss prevention
- understand and comply with guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
