Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently through the check lane
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and follow checkout procedures
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages and restricted sale items
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Comply with food safety regulations and reinforce safety programs
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
  • Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
