Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers actively and courteously
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system
- Handle various payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sales items, and loss prevention
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for gift cards, postage stamps, and coupons
- Stay updated on current, future, seasonal, and special promotions
- Maintain compliance with all food safety regulations and company safety programs
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment maintenance needs to management
- Provide excellent customer service by answering product-related questions and creating a welcoming environment
- Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
- Support diverse customer needs including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Work effectively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Uphold honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues
