Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience

  • Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet customers actively and provide assistance at the point of sale
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and follow company policies
  • Control cash shortages and overages by adhering to company guidelines and promote loss prevention
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs according to company policies
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current, seasonal, and special advertisements
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify management to reinforce safety programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products and store offerings
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
