Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately according to company policy
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
- perform front-end merchandising duties such as stocking newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs
- report errors in pricing or signage
- maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and the sale of regulated products
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department ensuring safety and sanitation standards
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all personal protective equipment and safety guidelines
- adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments as assigned
- handle additional responsibilities as needed
