Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and work honestly to prevent loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies
- Comply with company policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions
- Adhere to all applicable laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
