- Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Familiarity with cashier and checkout procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle cash and perform transactions honestly

- Ability to manage conflict in a professional manner
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Ability to assist diverse customer groups including minors and individuals with special needs
Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work honestly to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures, report unsafe conditions to management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated
- Abide by all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably, nonconfrontationally, and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
