Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, and coupons following company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify unsafe conditions or issues and notify store management
  • Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
