Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using Point of Sale systems
- Handle various payment tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, restricted sale items, and loss prevention
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed about current, seasonal, and special advertisements
- Maintain compliance with all food safety regulations and safety programs
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a cooperative, nonconfrontational manner
- Provide customer support including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
