  • Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is preferred

Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions through check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy
  • Understand and adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
