- Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is preferred
Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions through check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy
- Understand and adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
