- Ability to understand and operate Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Familiarity with handling various payment methods including government assistance programs
- Strong attention to detail and honesty
- Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner
- Ability to follow directions and seek help when needed

Job Duties
- Actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers
- Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly and accurately
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sale items and transaction handling
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Notify store management of unsafe conditions, accidents or maintenance needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Comply with local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high-paced or stressful environments
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
