Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • effective communication skills
  • knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
  • ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • ability to act with honesty and integrity
  • ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers actively and courteously
  • process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the Point of Sale system
  • handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
  • adhere to store policies regarding cash handling and loss prevention
  • ensure compliance with age-restricted sales regulations
  • report pricing discrepancies promptly
  • follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupon processing
  • stay updated on current and seasonal promotions and ads
  • maintain food safety standards and guidelines
  • identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
  • create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions
  • comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict professionally
  • protect customer and business information with honesty and integrity
  • seek assistance when resolving customer issues
  • support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults with care
  • perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
