Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts
- merchandise check-stand area including newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs and report pricing or signage errors
- maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers while modeling high standards of customer service
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of regulated products
- maintain a clean, well-stocked department and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all personal protective equipment and safety guidelines
- maintain food safety and cleaning standards
- adhere to guest experience guidelines
- assist in other departments based on customer experience needs
- perform additional assigned responsibilities
