Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • merchandise check-stand area including newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs and report pricing or signage errors
  • maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers while modeling high standards of customer service
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of regulated products
  • maintain a clean, well-stocked department and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all personal protective equipment and safety guidelines
  • maintain food safety and cleaning standards
  • adhere to guest experience guidelines
  • assist in other departments based on customer experience needs
  • perform additional assigned responsibilities
