Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously at the point of sale
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay updated on current, future, seasonal, and special promotions and ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair to management
- Answer customer questions about products and store policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment while managing conflict calmly
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and company information
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
