Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Understand and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons
- Adhere to company’s limits on cash shortages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and report issues
- Provide a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company policies
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
