Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
- perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper product identification and report errors in pricing or signage
- maintain awareness of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sales regulations
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
- may be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
- perform additional responsibilities as assigned
