Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • ensure proper product identification and report errors in pricing or signage
  • maintain awareness of current store programs and product locations
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, and sales regulations
  • maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
  • may be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
  • perform additional responsibilities as assigned
