  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently using the POS system
  • Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Adhere to company procedures for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of needed repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively under high-paced and sometimes stressful conditions
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
  • Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
