Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company procedures for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of needed repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Adhere to all applicable laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively under high-paced and sometimes stressful conditions
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
