Job Duties

  • greet customers warmly and actively engage with them at checkout
  • process customer transactions quickly and accurately through the point of sale system
  • handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
  • control cash shortages and overages while maintaining honesty and integrity
  • adhere to guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • report pricing discrepancies to store management
  • follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay updated on current and seasonal promotions and ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and safety programs
  • inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
  • follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • manage conflicts reasonably and professionally
  • maintain confidentiality of customer and business information
  • seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
