Job Duties
- greet customers warmly and actively engage with them at checkout
- process customer transactions quickly and accurately through the point of sale system
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
- control cash shortages and overages while maintaining honesty and integrity
- adhere to guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to store management
- follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated on current and seasonal promotions and ads
- comply with all food safety regulations and safety programs
- inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- manage conflicts reasonably and professionally
- maintain confidentiality of customer and business information
- seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as required
