Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- Understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
- Perform front-end merchandising of check-stand items such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- Ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing or signage errors
- Maintain knowledge of current store programs, promotions, and product locations
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked cashier department
- Assist with stocking items as needed
- Follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines
- Adhere to guest experience standards
- Perform tasks in other departments as assigned
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required
