Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the check lane
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
- Control loss by adhering to cash shortage and overage limits and working honestly
- Follow guidelines regarding restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and store safety procedures
- Create a welcoming environment and answer customer questions
- Maintain cleanliness and safety by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Provide support through interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
