Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons as per company policy
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product inquiries
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
