Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages, and controlling loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed about current, future, seasonal and special ads
- Follow food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety programs and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect and report maintenance needs of equipment
- Provide a welcoming environment by answering questions about store products
- Adhere to local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
