Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the point of sale
- Handle various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policies
- Control loss by adhering to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages
- Ensure compliance with restricted sale items policies such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special promotions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product inquiries
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information
- Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
