Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the point of sale
  • Handle various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policies
  • Control loss by adhering to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages
  • Ensure compliance with restricted sale items policies such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special promotions
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product inquiries
  • Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information
  • Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
