Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss honestly and effectively
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
