Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously
- process customer transactions accurately and efficiently through the point of sale system
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- maintain adherence to cash handling limits to control loss
- enforce company guidelines on restricted sales such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies promptly
- follow all procedures related to postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated on current, seasonal, and special promotions
- adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean environment
- reinforce safety protocols and promptly report unsafe conditions to management
- perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repair needs
- create a welcoming atmosphere by assisting customers with product information and store navigation
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- work cooperatively in fast-paced, sometimes stressful situations
- manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and professional manner
- demonstrate honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
