Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sales and loss prevention
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain current knowledge of promotions, ads and food safety regulations
- Comply with safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict cooperatively and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
