Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sales and loss prevention
  • Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Maintain current knowledge of promotions, ads and food safety regulations
  • Comply with safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
  • Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict cooperatively and nonconfrontationally
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
