Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently through the POS system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and follow company policy
- Control loss by adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages
- Enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and notify management of any needed repairs
- Provide a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Follow all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environments
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act honestly regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
