Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Understand and adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages, and loss prevention
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Adhere to established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Comply with food safety regulations
- Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
- Inspect equipment and notify necessary personnel of maintenance needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Adhere to all relevant laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
