Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, belts, and ensure efficient operation
- perform front-end merchandising duties including newspapers, periodicals, candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing or signage errors
- maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers while modeling high standards of service
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and the sale of restricted products
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department and comply with safety and sanitation standards
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- may perform additional duties as assigned including tasks in other departments
