Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Basic math skills including counting and addition
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers
  • Control loss by adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages
  • Follow guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
  • Maintain equipment and report repair needs
  • Provide friendly and informative customer service
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
  • Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Follow directions and seek help when necessary
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
