Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and WIC
  • Adhere to company policies regarding restricted sale items and manage cash shortages or overages to control loss
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with all advertising, food safety, and safety program guidelines
  • Create a welcoming environment and answer questions about products
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts reasonably
