Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
  • Handle various types of payments including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and apply company policies on transactions
  • Adhere to company policies on cash overages and shortages, and restricted sale items
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for special items like postage stamps and gift cards
  • Keep current with seasonal and special ads
  • Comply with food safety regulations and promote safety by identifying hazards and reporting them
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions
  • Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflicts calmly and respectfully
  • Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues
  • Provide direct support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
