Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Handle various types of payments including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and apply company policies on transactions
- Adhere to company policies on cash overages and shortages, and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for special items like postage stamps and gift cards
- Keep current with seasonal and special ads
- Comply with food safety regulations and promote safety by identifying hazards and reporting them
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts calmly and respectfully
- Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues
- Provide direct support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
