Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly accurately and efficiently
- Understand the POS system and handle various tenders including cash checks credit debit SNAP EBT offline SNAP EBT WIC rain checks complex loyalty offers coupons and checkout procedures
- Adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies for postage stamps gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present future seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures identify and report unsafe conditions accidents or issues
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate personnel of repair needs
- Create an environment where customers feel welcome important and appreciated by answering product questions
- Adhere to all local state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high paced sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably nonconfrontationally and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance through interaction with minors individuals with special needs and older adults
