Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience

  • prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers actively and courteously at the point of sale
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
  • handle multiple payment types including cash, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policies
  • adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • report pricing discrepancies promptly to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay informed on current, seasonal, and special promotions and ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and store safety procedures
  • identify and notify management of unsafe conditions or issues
  • perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment needing repairs
  • create a welcoming atmosphere by answering customer questions about products and services
  • uphold all local, state, federal laws and company policies
  • work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues
