Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Operate the Point of Sale system handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety programs and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
