Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions accurately, quickly, and efficiently
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to policy
- Control loss by adhering to company cash shortage and overage limits
- Follow guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Adhere to food safety regulations
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- Inspect equipment and report repair needs
- Provide exemplary customer service by answering product questions
- Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek help when necessary
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
