Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the POS system
  • handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons per company policies
  • adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items
  • report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • identify and report unsafe conditions and reinforce safety programs
  • perform preventive maintenance checks and report repair needs
  • create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
  • adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations
