Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return
- Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the point of sale system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and complex loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sales items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special promotional ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Answer customer questions regarding products and store departments
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
