Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as Alcohol, Tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and notify store management of unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
  • Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
