Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as Alcohol, Tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and notify store management of unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
