Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers and coupons
- Adhere to company cash handling limits and work to control loss honestly and effectively
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow company policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads and promotions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
- Adhere to relevant laws and company guidelines
- Manage work in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment cooperatively
- Handle conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
