Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions through the checkout lane quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
- Control loss by adhering to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages
- Follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management
- Inspect equipment and report repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Support minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
