Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and politely at all times
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Handle various payment types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company policies on handling cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items like alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies and issues to the Scan Coordinator promptly
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain awareness of current, seasonal, and special promotions to assist customers effectively
- Comply with all food safety regulations and company safety guidelines
- Identify unsafe conditions or accidents and notify management immediately
- Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and report them accordingly
- Provide helpful and courteous answers to customer inquiries about products and store policies
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws as well as company guidelines regarding sales and customer interactions
- Manage stressful situations and conflicts calmly and professionally
- Maintain honesty and integrity in handling confidential customer and business information
- Collaborate with customers who may require extra assistance including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
