Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages and restricted sale items
- report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- stay current with seasonal, future and special ads
- comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures
- identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- inspect equipment and report repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
